Christmas is my most favorite season ever. The season makes me feel how blessed and grateful I am to have what I have, the family and friends that love me. This Christmas my family made me feel special by gifting things that they know that I like. Majority of the items here were gifted. Please know that I am not trying to brag what I have got. I am only sharing my love for makeup and skin care with this blog post.
First of the present is benefit Days of Our Lights set. This set is a highlighter and primer trio, all in full size. If you want to have that glowy look then this is perfect for you. The set includes The POREfessional Pearl Primer which is a soft radiance primer. I have used it a couple of times and it is soft to touch and it des minimise the look of my pores and it is not flat. Then, it also includes Dandelion Twinkle highlighter. It is a nudish – pink powder highlighter and luminizer. It is not as intense as other highlighters but it is perfect for me. I like that it doesn’t have chunks of glitter. It is good for no makeup, makeup look which I am all about that life. My fave Watts Up! Soft focus highlighter is also included in this set. The set retails at NZ$69.70 and it is worth it.
Second on the list is an item that I gave myself. It is the Ultra Violette Queen Screen Lightweight Skin Screen. This is the best sunscreen that I have ever used. First it did not break me out and it the scent isn’t that strong, it is mild. It also looks good under the makeup and when I am not wearing any makeup on I moisturise and put it over my moisturiser and makes my skin glowy and protected. I cannot say any bad things about this sunscreen and also it is a serum form. It doesn’t feel heavy or sticky. It is the best NZ$51 that my money ever bought.
Let’s go with the skincare now. I was gifted with this drugstore goodies. First is the Pond’s Cold Cream Makeup Remover. Growing up I saw my mother using this. How I use it, I massage the cream to my face and with a warm soft face towel. It does a great job of removing stubborn makeup and the scent just brings back memories. This retails at NZ$6.99. I also got Simple WaterBoost Face Mask and Under Eye hydrogel mask which are my fave and a staple in my bathroom drawers. I have never tried this before but this season I was given this Burt’s Bees hydrating gel cream. It says that it provided 48 hours of hydration. This is not a gift and it came as a free from one of the online purchase and I want to give it a shout out – Lancome Hydra-Zen Anti-Stress Moisturising Cream. This cream is really moisturising. I applied it at night and I woke up with a dewy skin in the morning. I can say that I will repurchase it in the future. Lanolips Multipurpose Super Balm has been given to me. I have wanted to purchase this for such a long time and so glad that I have it. It is hydrating and I want to get the spice shade but Mecca doesn’t stock it. I will definitely be buying more of this baby.
Yes – I also got given a few face makeup. Finally, I have the Mecca Cosmetica Hydra Skin Tint in Natural. This did not disappoint. It lasts long and it blends with the skin really well nor it feels heavy. This is the perfect face foundation for me. I love it! Also for the base, I now have items from Flower Beauty. The Flower Light Illusion Luminous Makeup foundation has SPF 15 and I have the shade in classic tan. It is lightweight and up my alley. The secon Flower beauty that I have now is Flower Beauty Miracle Matte translucent finishing powder. It does mattify the makeup look and does a good job of cementing my under eye concealer.
The small items that I got but definitely the ones that I now love. I now have Laura Mercier Extra Lash Sculpting Mascara. I love this and will definitely repurchase this. I love how my eyelashes looked. It doesn’t budge and give me the racoon eyes. I tried heaps of drugstore mascaras and they all wear on my eyelids and under eye but this one it does not do that. For the lips, I received Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Nighthawk. Can I just say that thi is the perfect lip liner for my lip shade. It is nude and I like to overdraw my upper lip with it and even after having a big brekkie it still stay put. Lastly, I got Maybelline Superstay Ink Crayon in Lead the Way and Own Your Empire. This lipstick is easy to use even if you are hurrying to get out of the door in the morning.
That’s the gift of beauty that I received this season and I am truly happy with them. Happy New Year everyone!
